The results are in, we’ll begin by congratulating the Manor after a fine 10-5 win vs the Plaza, ensuring that they have some silverware coming back to Manor street this year winning the Sub Secretarys cup, managing a comprehensive score line even though they were in the Plaza’s manor…. (pun intended !)
Onto the main final at the baize where it was a much tighter affair, where the league title contenders took on a Red Baize side that’s been struggling of late, from the off there was very, very little given away from either side, the odd in off gifted a couple of frames either way and a blinding 8 ball from steve Bridgwood left Bucknall leading 5-4 at the halfway mark, then came an onslaught from Red Baize winning the next 5 frames leaving them 9-5 up and on the hill, a brief fightback with wins from Taff Minor and Andrew Finney from Bucknall before the inevitable happened, Craig Mears knocking in the final few balls with a great shot to get on the black… 10-7 to Red Baize
Congrats to the champions and well played all, the standard was fantastic at the Baize with very few mistakes…
