As some of you may know, Frank Walker who ran the Sunday League for something like thirty years passed away at the end of last month.

The Tuesday League site has been asked to publicise the upcoming event to commemorate the years of work Frank put in for the local area’s pool players – no problem with that, here goes:-

Saturday 27th June from 7:30p.m. onwards at Green Baize Hanley

Teams of five players ( £ 2.00 per player ) will play a knock out competition under Sunday League Rules, i.e. World Rules break then ‘Old Rules’ thereafter.

There will be other competitions too, depending on the number of entrants and time.

As it is a memorial competition winners will receive trophies.

All proceeds go to Franks family so if you’ve got four mates, turn up as a team – if you’ve got no mates, turn up with £2.00 and play with four other guys with no mates, if you don’t know ‘Old Rules’ turn up and learn them! JUST TURN UP! If you can’t possibly make it, drop by the Green Baize with a contribution at any time that suits you, have a whip round in your boozer, sell your kids etc. just show some support.
