THE DOUBLES MERITS IS BEING RE-DRAWN.
During the One Frame Knockout on Tuesday 19th August, after consulting with Committee members, it has been decided that the original draw for the Doubles posted earlier in the week will be scrapped and a new draw will be done at 7:00p.m. at Bucknall Club on Wednesday August 20th.
A text message containing a number of pairings was sent through by one of the Delegates, but not received by the Secretary. Both phones have been checked and said message has definitely disappeared into the great beyond. Although the Constitution states ‘a sent text does not constitute a received text’ ( Rule 31 iii ), it was felt that, in the spirit of fair play, the players involved should not be excluded from the merits as they have done nothing wrong and therefore the only viable option is a re-draw. The Committee apologises for any inconvenience this causes to Delegates/Players, but that’s the decision – and it’s a pain for the committee too – we’ve got to do the $%^ing draw again. lol.
The revised fixtures will appear on the website by midnight on Wednesday 20th August.
