the match was played at Plaza on two tables to superleague format - A race to 10 frames.....

As expected it was a close run affair and after the first nine frames PLAYERS led 5-4 which included

an 8 ball fron Nathan Jones ..... with PLAYERS edging it and looking on top, ASHWOOD had other

ideas and took the final two frames to level the match at 9-9 thus ensuring a three man play off....

MAIN SINGLE MERITS

The semi finals saw ZAC COOPER (Smallthorne Vic) breeze past TOM MIDDLETON ) Longton Club) 4-1

Whilst in the other semi evergreen and former champ DAZ LIGHTFOOT (Plaza Kings) took on Ultimate pool star

ANDY BLURTON (45 Club), The Bulb raced into a 2-0 lead only to see Andy come storming back to lead 3-2,

The match then went all square and both players had their chances, Daz looked all over the winner but missed

a regulation pot to middle bag with the Black hanging over the top bag which gave Andy the match 4-3,

The final which was streamed at the Plaza seemed all but over when Andy Blurton raced into a 4-1 lead

to go on the hill in the race to five, But amazingly Zac threw caution to the wind and knocked in three dishes to level.

The deciding frame became very tactical and eventully with Andy holding a very strong tactical position he looked

odds on favourite for the title... but Wowzers what a shot Zacarias pulled off on his last ball off two cushions with

the white travelling the full length of the table to nudge the black for a tap in (fantastic do or die shot) .....

The competition was concluded at the Manor due to re-arrangments, With Deakin & Barker already

through to the final after beating Blackhurst & Blackhurst (Gardeners) 3-2, they awaited the winners of

Ball & Marsden against the holders and defending champions Wager & Statham...... A tight and very

scrappy affair saw the champs getting knocked out 3-1...... In the final Ball & Marsden raced into a 2-0 lead

and when a massive fluke in frame three put them on the hill at 3-0 which somewhat deflated there opponents

who however pulled a frame back, but it was too little too late and Ball & Marsden took the title 4-1 with a tidy
